Carrie Underwood Rings In 28th Birthday

She’s one of the hottest country singers out there, and today (March 10, 2011) Carrie Underwood is celebrating her 28th birthday!

Paving quite the impressive career for herself, the “Jesus Take the Wheel” hottie has had over ten No. 1 songs on the Billboard charts and has taken home a Grammy award, multiple CMA Awards, a GMA Dove Award and a little ACM hardware over the past six years.

Not only does Underwood continue making sweet music, she also devotes much of her time and money to various charities, including the Save the Children program.

This past year, Carrie married hockey player Mike Fisher, who was recently traded from the Ottawa Senators to Underwood’s hometown Nashville Predators.

According to Self magazine, Carrie Underwood, the country music star, — who’s currently dating hockey star Mike Fisher — keeps in shape with exercise DVDs. Underwood says she works out with Jillian Michaels‘ videos.

“I have Exercise TV on cable,” Underwood said. “Jillian Michaels’s videos will kick your butt. She’s my trainer, and she doesn’t even know it!”

Carrie Underwood says she has lowered her sugar intake, including cutting out soda.

“I have a lot fewer breakouts,” she explains. “People have asked me, ‘What are you doing differently?’ I’m honestly just eating healthier.”

Carrie Underwood recently revealed she wants to start a family.

“Not that I have a husband to have one with yet, but someday I’d like a family – not a big one, but not a small one either,” she said. “Two kids is good; three is fine. Four? Somebody’s getting something done, because we ain’t having five!”

Carrie Underwood is taking the heat after her husband Mike Fisher made the move from the Ottawa Senators to the Nashville Predators.

Ottawa station Kiss 105.3 FM issued a tongue-in-cheek ban of the country singer's hits from their playlist, writing in a statement: “We know Mike Fisher is not to blame for this trade but feel he was lured away from Ottawa by a country-music superstar. Sure, she’s pretty. Yes, she can sing. But can she play hockey? Can she put one on the top shelf with a slap shot? No!”

Other Ottawa media outlets are similarly outraged. One compared Underwood to John Lennon's wife, Yoko Ono.

Fisher, meanwhile, is playing defense for his wife. "I heard about it right away and Carrie heard about it and she was extremely disappointed and frustrated," said Fisher to Vancouver Sun. "I think they meant it as a joke that really wasn't funny."
